Is lunch included, and can you cater for dietary needs?
Always. A shared charcuterie-style lunch is included. Venues are happy to cater for all dietary needs, just let us know. And, we can easily upgrade your lunch option if we plan together in advance.
Why are your local pickup tailored tours better than other wine tours to Clare?
We can go everywhere. An Adelaide tour bus might take you to the historical sites, but Charles can explain the significance and motivation of the pioneers who built the old buildings. We tour where the big groups can’t and the city tour operators don't. Depending on your group, we might visit Wines by KT, Sussex Squire, Crabtree, Reillys, Grosset, or Clos Clare. It all depends on what suits you and what's open on the day.
Why Choose a Group of Four Wine Tour in the Clare and Barossa Valleys?
When exploring South Australia’s best wine regions, Valley Wine Tours’ Group of Four wine tours offer the perfect balance between a private experience and genuine value for money. With personalised itineraries, local insight, and comfortable transport, you’ll enjoy the flexibility of a private tour without the higher cost. Many bus wine tours carry loads of passengers and charge between $120 and $195 per person. Our Group of Four tours, at $155 per person (including lunch), provide a far more personal experience for a similar price. Fewer crowds, more stories, and better access to boutique cellar doors in the Clare and Barossa Valleys.
What is a Group of Four Wine Tour?
A Group of Four wine tour means your party of four has the vehicle and itinerary to yourselves, without the cost of booking a fully private tour. It is ideal for two couples, parents with adult children, or close friends who want to share the experience. With just four passengers, you enjoy more flexibility, comfort, and time at each stop.
Why Choose a Group of Four Instead of a Shared Tour?
Shared tours are wonderful for singles and couples who enjoy meeting new people. But when you already have a ready-made group, travelling as four gives you extra privacy and pace. There are no big buses, no rigid timetables, and no rushing from one winery to the next. You get the best of both worlds: a private-feeling day at a discounted rate compared to a full private booking.
Can We Join from Adelaide?
Valley Wine Tours is based in the Clare and Barossa Valleys, and we believe the best tours start in the region itself. However, we know some guests travel from interstate or overseas and prefer not to organise their own transport. For these occasions, we can arrange a private Adelaide transfer for an additional $250 per Group (return). This option allows you to relax and enjoy the journey, knowing you will arrive refreshed for your tour.
Many wineries serve food in their tasting rooms, so while dogs are welcome on the grounds, they’re not always allowed inside. That’s why we created our Dog-Friendly Tours, which are featured on the Pupsy website.
Can dogs go to cellar door tastings?
Why are Clare and Tanunda suggested as the best places to stay?
If you’re looking for the best towns to stay in the Clare Valley or the Barossa Valley, Clare and Tanunda are ideal. Both offer easy access to cellar doors, restaurants, and local attractions, as well as practical amenities like pharmacies and grocery stores. For mid-week stays, these towns keep you close to the region’s cafés and wine bars. On weekends, Auburn in the Clare Valley comes alive with visitors, while Angaston in the Barossa Valley is buzzing with food and wine experiences. Wherever you choose, staying locally means less driving and more time to relax and enjoy the region. But, if you are looking for seclusion & privacy, who needs a town! Any of the amazing hidden cottages are always a fantastic choice, and I'll pick you up.
