Two Days. Two Very Different Wine Stories.
The Barossa Valley and Clare Valley share some fascinating connections. Both were shaped by nineteenth-century European settlement, including Prussian, English, Cornish, and Irish settlers. Important mining towns needed feeding, families were fleeing Europe, and that attracted the farmers whose descendants have created a wine culture that has evolved over generations. Shiraz and Cabernet are important varieties in both regions, while Clare has also built an international reputation for Riesling. Over two days, we can explore those similarities, the differences between the regions, and the history, landscapes and people that have shaped their wines.
Your Two Day Wine Journey
Day 1: Adelaide to the Barossa Valley
I’ll collect you from your Adelaide accommodation in the morning and we’ll travel to the Barossa Valley for a full day exploring the region. The day is relaxed rather than rushed, with time to enjoy the cellar doors, wines and stories of the Barossa. At the end of the day, I’ll drop you at your included Barossa accommodation, leaving you free to enjoy the evening in the region.
Day 2: Barossa Valley to Clare Valley and Adelaide
After breakfast, I’ll collect you from your Barossa accommodation and we’ll travel north to the Clare Valley for our second day of wine touring. We’ll explore a selection of Clare Valley cellar doors while discovering the region’s wines, history and landscape, and how they compare with what we experienced in the Barossa. At the end of the afternoon, we’ll leave Clare and return you to your Adelaide accommodation.
What’s Included
Your two-day private wine experience includes pickup and return from Adelaide, private touring of the Barossa Valley and Clare Valley, one night’s standard Barossa accommodation, lunch on both days and standard wine tastings at the selected cellar doors.
The tour is designed for private groups of four to six guests, giving us the flexibility to tailor the experience to your interests and keep the pace relaxed.
Your tour is planned around cellar doors where standard wine tastings are included in the experience. If you would particularly like to visit a winery that charges a tasting or experience fee, I am happy to include it in your itinerary where possible, with any additional tasting fees payable directly by you on the day.
Your Barossa Accommodation
One night’s standard accommodation in the Barossa Valley is included in your tour. After your first day of touring, I’ll drop you at your accommodation, giving you the evening to relax and enjoy the Barossa before I collect you the following morning for our journey to the Clare Valley.
Standard accommodation is included, subject to availability.
